Sam Robinson, LCSW-S and Founder

Hi, I’m Sam! I’m a proud husband, father, musician, gardener, and founder of Strong Roots Psychotherapy. Born and raised in the UK, I traveled across the pond in 2016 to further my career as a clinical social worker. After meeting my wife in the Midwest, we landed in Austin, TX in 2018.

I am passionate about relationships and value the growth and groundedness that can come from a solid, authentic connection, free from judgment. This will be the foundation of our work together.

As a Certified Practitioner of Coherence Therapy, I am always listening out for how present-day struggles may have, at some point, been a solution to an even worse suffering. This is often not clear. But together, we can unearth the root cause of your suffering, bring to the surface what experiences informed how you view the world, and create transformational shifts that will enable you to live as your authentic self.

My therapy practice thrives alongside my passion for music, gardening, and my family. I’ve been playing drums professionally for many years. Music has played an important role in my own self-care for as long as I can remember and was a large part of why I ended up settling in Austin! For me, music serves as a constant reminder of the importance of fulfillment and I work hard to support you to find this in your own life.

I look forward to the opportunity to talk with you about working together to develop your existing skills to build a life filled with possibility. Feel free to reach out to schedule a consult to see if we may work well together :)
